Holiday Card Portraits for People Who Hate Getting Their Picture Taken

It's our favorite time of year: time for Holiday cards! I (Jess) absolutely LOVE Holiday cards, and not just because I'm a photographer. In a world of social media and email, there's nothing like getting something different in the mail like a shimmering physical paper greeting card with a loved-one's face to cheer up your usual stack of bills and grocery store ads. It's my favorite part of the holiday season. I love holiday cards so much I display every one on my wall for as long as my husband will let me keep the decorations up. The only thing more fun than receiving a greeting card in the mail during the holidays is being the one to take the pictures for the Christmas card. I get it--usually the only family member excited about taking the pictures is Mom. The kids complain that their outfit is "itchy", the fancy shoes pinch their toes, and your husband is giving you the "why do we have to do this again?" speech for the ninth time, not looking forward to having to fake-smile for an hour. Mom, you're the one who booked this photo shoot and, dangit, you're going to get that annual picture if it kills you because you want something that's not an iPhone photo of your family while the kids are this age. Never fear, Moody Media is here! We want this to be an enjoyable, painless experience for the entire family. We'll get the formal portraits out of the way at the beginning while your kids are behaving and shy from this stranger staring at them with a giant lens, but then it's time to have fun. We're not talking fake Instagram curated fun, but actual fun. We want real laughs, even if I have to break out the "Tickle Stick" (sounds dumb, but it works, you'll see...). We'll play games, run around, and try to make this a great time for all, even your husband who thought he didn't want to be there.

Here are some Christmas card portraits we took at the Royal Poinciana Plaza in Palm Beach, FL:
